Slots are dynamic placeholders that either wait for content (passive slots) or call out for it (active slots). They are filled by a scenario using an Add Items to Slot action or by a renderer. Slots and scenarios work together to deliver content to the page; renderers specify how that content is presented.<\/p>\n
A slot is an elongated depression, groove, or notch, especially one for receiving something, such as a coin or a letter. It is also a position or time period, as in the eight o’clock slot on Thursdays or a particular hour during a television program: I had to be at the office for my four o’clock slot.<\/p>\n
The number of symbols on a slot machine determines the odds of winning. There are various types of slots available: single pay line, multi-pay lines, progressive jackpots, free spins and bonus games. Picking a machine that has the right type of features to increase your chances of winning is important, but don’t forget luck plays a big part too!<\/p>\n
You can add synonyms to a slot type so that Dialog Engine recognizes several different words and phrases for the same entity value. To do this, select a slot type and click Edit. Click the Synonyms tab and enter an alternate name for the slot. You can also use regular expressions to map values to slot types.
