Once all players have their 2 hole cards, a round of betting begins. This is initiated by 2 mandatory bets called blinds put into the pot by the player to the left of the dealer.<\/p>\n
After the initial round of betting is complete the dealer puts 3 cards face up on the table that everyone can use (known as the flop). Another round of betting occurs.<\/p>\n
If you decide to raise in a poker hand, it\u2019s important to know what that means. A raise must be at least equal to the highest previous bet. If you raise again, that\u2019s a re-raise and is referred to as \u201craising the blinds.\u201d It\u2019s also important not to play out of turn.
