As research develops, various vaccines are also being developed in BRICS member countries and in China. Sinovac and Sinopharm, for example, offer inactivated virus-based vaccines which are widely used in various countries, especially in Asia and Africa. This approach has demonstrated its effectiveness although some criticism has centered on the transparency of its clinical trial data. In order to deal with new variants of the virus, such as Delta and Omicron, the development of booster shots is important. Booster vaccines are designed to replenish the body’s immunity, which may wane over time. Research shows that additional doses can increase vaccine effectiveness, strengthen the immune response and provide better protection against the variants. The importance of vaccines can be seen not only from their efficacy, but also from distribution and accessibility challenges. Countries with limited resources often face difficulties in accessing vaccines. International initiatives such as COVAX were created to ensure that low-income countries can receive vaccine supplies fairly and equally. This program seeks to reduce disparities in global vaccination. Public education about vaccines is also a major focus. Misinformation and doubts about vaccination are a challenge, so transparent and evidence-based information campaigns are needed to increase public trust and encourage participation in vaccination programs. Vaccine innovation continues, with research moving towards the development of a universal vaccine, which could protect against a wide range of flu viruses and other pathogens. This shows that the COVID-19 pandemic has not only changed the way we view vaccines, but has also increased the global community’s preparedness to deal with future outbreaks.
